Duty Manager

About the role

The Duty Manager oversees daily hotel operations at The Meydan Hotel, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Acting as the senior point of contact when department heads are absent, the role combines leadership, operational oversight, and guest relations to maintain high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all front office duties in line with established standards.
• Assist the Front Office Manager in running daily operations and delivering courteous, professional service.
• Assign tasks to team members, monitor performance, and provide coaching.
• Control operating expenses and departmental costs.
• Oversee requisitioning, storage, and use of equipment and supplies.
• Handle telephone calls, messages, and ensure adherence to hotel etiquette.
• Train staff on call handling, guest services, and operational procedures.
• Monitor guest check‑in and check‑out processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Submit guest passport details through the CID system and verify special rate authorisations.
• Provide personalised attention to VIP and long‑stay guests.
• Resolve guest complaints promptly and manage compensation issues.
• Liaise with Reception and Housekeeping to prioritise room arrivals and special requests.
• Support Guest Service Executives with daily operational tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel front office or operations management.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints effectively.
• Knowledge of hotel policies, safety protocols, and service standards.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• CID system for passport data handling.
