EAL Coordinator

About the role

The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking for an enthusiastic EAL Coordinator to lead English as an Additional Language provision across the school. You will work closely with teachers, students and parents to ensure high‑quality language support within a fast‑paced international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review the EAL curriculum aligned with the UK national curriculum and international standards.
• Provide coaching and professional development for staff delivering EAL instruction.
• Monitor student progress, analyse data and report outcomes to senior leadership and parents.
• Collaborate with pastoral and academic teams to integrate language support into all subject areas.
• Lead the recruitment, induction and ongoing support of EAL teaching staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an EAL coordinator within the UK national curriculum.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to high standards of student support and pastoral care.
• Flexibility and openness to adapt quickly in an international school setting.
