Electrical Engineer – Street Lighting & Traffic Signals

About the role

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the supervision and quality control of street lighting and traffic signal installations across road, bridge and under‑pass projects in Dubai. The role ensures that all electrical works comply with design, specifications and local authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installations for streets, bridges, underpasses, including lighting, feeder pillars, LV cable networks and control systems.
• Develop and apply inspection and test procedures in line with the project quality plan.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and ITPs for all electrical components.
• Witness testing, commissioning and energisation activities and verify compliance.
• Coordinate with DEWA and other authorities for supply connections, inspections and NOC approvals.
• Collaborate with civil, structural and mechanical teams to ensure proper sequencing and integration of electrical works.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in supervising electrical works for infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with local utility regulations and authority approval processes.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
