Environmental Test Technician

About the role

Orbitworks is seeking a hands‑on Environmental Test Technician to support the qualification of satellite hardware and spacecraft systems. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality and test teams to prepare hardware, configure test equipment and execute environmental test campaigns safely and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and prepare spacecraft hardware, components and test articles for environmental testing.
• Install and configure test fixtures, sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples), cables and data‑acquisition equipment.
• Execute vibration, thermal, thermal‑vacuum and other qualification or acceptance test campaigns while monitoring hardware and equipment.
• Record test parameters, observations, anomalies and results; support post‑test inspections and hardware removal.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment, tooling and laboratory areas, ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma, technical qualification or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical or test equipment in a technical environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and follow detailed engineering procedures.

• Vibration and shaker testing.
• Thermal and thermal‑vacuum chamber operation.

• Data‑acquisition systems and test‑monitoring software.
