Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Facilities Engineer will oversee the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of all hard, soft and specialist services within a large retail mall. You will act as the main point of contact for contractors, tenants, and local authorities to ensure safety, compliance and high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise internal and external contractors, ensuring service levels and safety standards.
• Liaise with board members, owners, tenants and authorities (Dubai Civil Defence, RTA) on complaints, disputes and regulatory matters.
• Track and manage assets, and plan essential services such as reception, security, cleaning, parking, waste disposal and recycling.
• Define and monitor service level agreements using key performance indicators for contractor evaluation.
• Oversee operation and preventive maintenance of all MEP equipment, civil structures and building systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
• Coordinate with other departments for facilities‑management requirements and meet project deadlines.
• Maintain strict safety protocols during maintenance and repair activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in MEP or facilities management.
• Extensive knowledge of MEP/HVAC systems and Building Management System (BMS) components.
• Strong facility and project management capabilities.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Required skills

• MEP/HVAC system expertise.
• Building Management System (BMS) operation.
• Experience with CAFM Explorer or a similar Computer‑Aided Facility Management tool.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications.
