Faculty Position – Computer Information Science (Software Engineering)

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a full‑time faculty member for the Computer Information Science (Software Engineering) program. The role combines strategic, teaching, research and service responsibilities to support HCT’s system‑wide objectives and the Division’s academic mission.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of HCT’s system‑wide strategy and develop faculty policies.
• Deliver applied, student‑centered teaching for software engineering courses, using educational technology and providing continuous feedback.
• Design, assess and continuously improve curricula, question banks and course materials in line with accreditation standards.
• Advise and mentor students, including at‑risk support, internship supervision and regular office hours.
• Conduct applied research aligned with national innovation priorities and represent the faculty in conferences and committees.
• Maintain teaching facilities, manage course administration (eCAF, CAR) and participate in quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s with professional certification and at least 5 years of combined teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s with extensive industry experience may also be considered.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant field and three years of industry experience, preferably with curriculum development and educational‑technology integration.
