Full-Stack Engineer – Backend Development (Go/Python)

About the role

Fortal is building a secure, browser‑based collaborative workspace and needs an experienced Full‑Stack Engineer to own the backend that powers user accounts, dashboards and integrations. You will design and implement a production‑ready, multi‑tenant SaaS backend from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Develop secure user account management, sign‑up, login and role‑based access.
• Provision and model data in a managed PostgreSQL database.
• Design and build RESTful APIs that connect to existing workspace and video services.
• Integrate AI/insights services for activity summaries and transcription.
• Establish clean deployment, configuration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect a scalable, multi‑tenant backend infrastructure.
• Implement authentication, authorization, session management and API security best practices.
• Provide logging, monitoring, auditing and observability for production.
• Optimize performance through database tuning, caching and efficient API design.
• Collaborate with frontend and platform engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production SaaS backends (accounts, databases, APIs).
• Strong proficiency in Go and Python.
• Experience with managed PostgreSQL databases and cloud hosting.
• Familiarity with Git‑based CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments.
• Track record of delivering clean, well‑documented code and handovers.
• Deep understanding of authentication, authorization and secure coding practices.
• Experience designing scalable architectures for multi‑user SaaS applications.
