GL Accountant

About the role

A leading Insurance Brokerage Company in the UAE is seeking an experienced GL Accountant to join its finance team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate should have strong general ledger accounting experience, knowledge of UAE VAT practices, and the ability to manage reconciliations and financial records accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT requirements and accounting practices.
• Work with ERP systems and Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support smooth accounting operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an insurance brokerage or insurance company.
• Strong GL accounting and reconciliation experience.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and accounting practices.
• Good skills in Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with UAE accounting standards and compliance requirements.
