Head Nurse

About the role

The Head Nurse will lead and manage the nursing team to deliver patient‑centric, evidence‑based care while ensuring operational efficiency and a positive patient experience. This senior position reports to senior hospital management and oversees both clinical and non‑clinical resources.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and management guidance to the nursing team.
• Ensure evidence‑based patient care practices are followed in line with clinical standards.
• Develop employees and create an engaging environment to enhance patient experience.
• Manage clinical and non‑clinical resources cost‑effectively to support safe patient care.
• Maintain compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards and drive continuous quality improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised/accredited institute.
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital or clinic.
• 3–5 years of senior nursing experience is desired.

Required skills

• Implementation of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, evaluation).
• Application of the nursing scope of practice as defined by regulatory frameworks.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Competence in using key clinical equipment used in the clinic.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient care and nursing management.
• Understanding of relevant Acts, statutory regulations and directives.
• Ability to control expenses cost‑effectively.
• Knowledge of external standards and compliance management.
• Risk management principles and best practices.
• Stock control principles and management.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English.
