Head Nurse – OPD

About the role

The Head Nurse – OPD will lead the outpatient department, ensuring patient safety, effective care delivery, and coordination of clinical activities while working closely with nursing management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure and oversee safe, appropriate, and effective care for all patients in the unit.
• Determine nursing interventions based on assessment data and prioritize identified needs.
• Develop, revise, and implement care plans and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Coordinate overall clinical activities of the unit when acting as charge nurse.
• Collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor on shift staffing and plan clinical programs.
• Facilitate patient education and maintain accurate, real‑time clinical records.
• Perform advanced or specialized nursing skills competently, including essential life‑support procedures.
• Act as a clinical resource, communicate with multidisciplinary teams, and represent nursing in rounds.
• Participate in developing standards, procedures, and evidence‑based practice.
• Support training, education, and continuous quality improvement activities for nursing staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing nursing teams.
• Ability to influence and implement change, make decisions and communicate effectively.
• Valid registered nurse license with the relevant UAE health authority and current AHA Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Manage own professional re‑licensure and be willing to work across departments.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Desirable: ability to work in an inter‑professional team, strong organizational skills for electronic medical record documentation, and ability to communicate in Arabic.

• Proficient use of electronic medical record platforms for clinical documentation.
