Head of Islamic Education

About the role

The Head of Islamic Education will lead the development and delivery of the Islamic studies curriculum at Grammar School Dubai. This senior teaching position is responsible for ensuring high standards of literacy, religious understanding, and overall student progress across all year groups.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and deliver Islamic education programmes that meet the needs of a diverse student body.
• Use observation, assessment and data analysis to set challenging learning objectives and monitor pupil progress.
• Prepare teaching materials, homework and out‑of‑class activities to reinforce learning.
• Provide regular, constructive feedback and accurate marking to support student development.
• Participate in examinations, assessments and school inspections, supplying required data and reports.
• Maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment and apply consistent behaviour management strategies.
• Support pupils with special educational needs, gifted and talented, and English as an Additional Language.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to inform school policy and improvement plans.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and experience in Islamic education.
• Strong understanding of literacy development and assessment practices.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for varied abilities and backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
