Internal Audit Manager – Customs Operations

About the role

The Internal Audit Manager – Customs Operations will lead and manage audit engagements focused on customs activities. You will ensure audits are executed effectively, align with government priorities, and support continuous improvement of governance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive audit plans and programs for assigned engagements.
• Lead operational, compliance, and performance audits for customs-related auditees.
• Present audit reports, findings, recommendations, and emerging risks to senior management.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and resolve audit issues.
• Conduct industry research, benchmark best practices, and assess regulatory changes.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to audit team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification (CIA, CPA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Proven experience managing internal audit engagements, preferably in government or public‑sector organisations.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
