Junior Buyer

About the role

The Junior Buyer will support the procurement function by sourcing non‑contracted local goods and services for Emirates Flight Catering. You will work closely with internal departments to ensure timely availability of items that meet quality and delivery expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Source non‑contracted local purchases based on requisitions, validating needs, quality and delivery requirements with stakeholders.
• Convert requisitions into purchase orders promptly, monitoring product availability and communicating any delays.
• Review prices and specifications from local suppliers for non‑complex items, ensuring compliance with sustainability and ethical standards.
• Handle customer and supplier communications regarding order status, changes or cancellations.
• Manage Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) with suppliers and track resolutions.
• Upload contracts, facilitate e‑auctions and maintain procurement records in internal databases.
• Identify improvement opportunities in requisition processes, considering cost, delivery time, quality and inventory.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferably in Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or a supply‑chain environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
