Junior Compounding Pharmacist

About the role

The Junior Compounding Pharmacist supports daily operations of the sterile and non‑sterile compounding laboratory, ensuring accurate, safe and timely preparation of patient‑specific medications. Working under the Lab Manager, the role guarantees compliance with SOPs, USP standards, FDA guidelines and UAE MOHAP regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and compound prescription orders accurately, following patient‑specific requirements.
• Prepare medications using ingredients that meet USP, FDA and UAE MOHAP standards.
• Follow internal SOPs and USP <795>, <797>, <800>, <825> guidelines to avoid errors.
• Document compounding activities, cleaning logs, batch records and quality checks per Good Compounding Practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, audit‑ready laboratory and assist with equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Monitor inventory of APIs, excipients, containers and consumables; report shortages and support procurement.
• Supervise pharmacy helpers in cleaning, setup and pre‑compounding tasks.
• Communicate proactively with the Lab Manager, QA/QC staff and pharmacists to align operations with prescription volume.

Required profile

• Ability to interpret and compound prescription orders accurately.
• Strong adherence to SOPs, regulatory guidelines and quality‑assurance procedures.
