Junior Market Analyst – Graduate Programme

About the role

This full‑time, permanent position is part of the Commercial team of a global energy trading firm based in Dubai. The Junior Market Analyst role sits within a graduate scheme focused on European gas, power and emissions markets, supporting traders with data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Support traders in developing and refining market‑specific trading strategies.
• Analyse market fundamentals such as supply, demand, pricing behaviour, flows and regulatory updates.
• Build and maintain forecasting models for short‑term and long‑term market views.
• Prepare market summaries, dashboards and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor real‑time news and data to inform daily trading decisions.
• Develop AI‑driven workflows to scrape, summarise and structure unstructured market news and reports.
• Automate dashboard updates and report generation using Python scripting or low‑code AI tools.
• Collaborate with trading, risk, analytics and data‑science teams to support commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative discipline (completed or near completion).
• Exposure to at least one programming language such as Python, C++ or Java.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to convert unstructured market signals into structured outputs.
• Experience creating automations or scripts that reduce manual data entry or repetitive analysis tasks.
• Strong analytical mindset, fluency in English and a proactive sense of ownership.
