About the role
One&Only The Palm Resort in Dubai is looking for a Junior Sommelier to support its wine program. The role involves assisting with wine service, guiding guests in selections, and maintaining the cellar to ensure a memorable dining experience.
Key responsibilities
- Recommend and serve wines based on guest preferences and pairings.
- Present, open, and pour wine professionally following service standards.
- Maintain and update the wine list in collaboration with the Head Sommelier.
- Receive, organize, store, label, and rotate wine bottles (FIFO) and conduct stock‑taking.
- Assist in training servers on basic wine knowledge and service etiquette.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in a 5‑star hotel/resort or Michelin‑starred restaurant.
- Excellent spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with high‑profile clientele.
Required skills
- Wine knowledge (regions, varietals, vintages, flavor profiles).
- Wine service techniques.
- Inventory management for wine cellar.
