Lab Instructor - Engineering (Electrical / Electronics)

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a Lab Instructor for its Electrical/Electronics Engineering programmes. The role combines lecture delivery with hands‑on laboratory supervision, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. You will be responsible for preparing labs, maintaining equipment, and supporting student projects.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and assessments for diploma‑level Electrical/Electronics courses.
• Set up, install, demonstrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and tools.
• Maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules, manuals and logs for all lab assets.
• Provide technical assistance to faculty and students during workshops and projects.
• Manage consumable inventories and coordinate procurement of parts and equipment.
• Enforce safety, housekeeping and laboratory procedures.
• Act as a student advisor and mentor, contributing to extracurricular and community activities.

Required profile

• Minimum Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with industrial exposure.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Membership in a recognised professional association is desirable.
• Previous short‑span teaching or workshop experience is preferred.
