Legal Counsel – International Trade & Shipping

About the role

Monjasa is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Dubai hub, supporting the Group’s international oil trade and shipping activities. You will work with legal teams in Fredericia, Panama City and Dubai, providing commercial and regulatory advice across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on sale and purchase of oil products, Incoterms, bills of lading and other shipping documents.
• Support corporate governance, regulatory compliance and other business‑critical legal matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, charterparty agreements and standard‑form sale contracts.
• Collaborate with external counsel on multi‑jurisdictional regulatory issues.
• Provide ad‑hoc legal support to internal stakeholders throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree.
• Bar admission or equivalent qualification in home jurisdiction.
• Minimum two years post‑qualification experience in a law firm or multinational company.
• Strong analytical approach with ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international trade law, maritime law and UAE corporate law.
• Familiarity with standard‑form sale and purchase contracts and charterparty forms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Additional language skills in Arabic or French are a plus.
