Lifeguard

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to join the team at Fairmont The Palm, a luxury resort on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. You will ensure the safety of guests in our pool and beach areas while delivering exceptional service in a high‑end hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise swimming activities and enforce pool regulations and water‑safety policies.
• Perform rescues, administer first aid, CPR and artificial respiration as needed.
• Evaluate conditions, initiate the aquatics emergency action plan and report incidents to the Head Lifeguard or Director of Security.
• Inspect pool facilities, equipment and water quality; conduct chlorine residual tests and maintain related records.
• Assist with pool cleaning, add chemicals according to directives, and support swimming‑class instruction.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain a safe pool environment.

Required profile

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.
• Swim 400 m in under 8 minutes and tolerate temperatures above 45 °C.
• Enthusiastic, friendly and strong customer‑service orientation.
• Excellent communication, listening and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• First‑aid certification.
• Water‑testing and pool‑chemical handling.
• Ability to perform a 400 m swim under 8 minutes.
