Lifting Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly safety‑conscious and technically skilled Lifting Engineer to design, review and supervise critical lifting operations for our projects in Abu Dhabi. The role combines engineering design, risk assessment and on‑site supervision to ensure safe and efficient heavy lifts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed rigging and lifting plans using CAD and specialized simulation software.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses and Risk Assessments before each lift.
• Oversee inspection, testing and certification of cranes, slings, shackles and spreader beams.
• Supervise critical lifts on‑site as the technical authority, ensuring adherence to approved plans.
• Calculate loads, ground bearing pressures and outrigger requirements to select appropriate crane configurations.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (LEEA, ASME, LOLER) and local regulations.
• Lead investigations of lifting‑related incidents and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Valid certification from a recognised lifting body (e.g., LEEA Certified or Appointed Person).
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in heavy lifting, rigging and crane operations within oil & gas, construction, marine or heavy industry.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, including 3‑D rigging layouts.
• Calculation methods for centre of gravity, load sharing and structural integrity.
• Experience with rigging stress evaluation and crane capacity selection.
