Maintenance Technician - Mechanical

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment used in paint manufacturing. Based in Dubai, you will work closely with the Maintenance Engineer to minimise downtime and uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, install, and maintain mixers, mills, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, agitators, valves, storage tanks, pipelines, dust‑collection systems, filling and packing machines, and related rotating equipment.
• Execute planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades, and plant improvement projects to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Investigate equipment failures, support root‑cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure spare‑parts availability and minimise production interruptions.
• Comply with safety and regulatory requirements such as LOTO, Permit‑to‑Work, Confined Space Entry, and ATEX/IECEx standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in the paint industry or similar process sectors (chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas).
• Strong adherence to company procedures, systematic planning, and the ability to analyse complex issues.
• Demonstrated specialist knowledge in mechanical maintenance and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Effective teamwork and knowledge‑sharing skills.

Required skills

• Maintenance of mixers, mills, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, agitators, valves, storage tanks, pipelines, dust‑collection systems, filling and packing machines.
• Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance techniques.
• Root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Familiarity with LOTO, Permit‑to‑Work, Confined Space Entry, ATEX/IECEx standards.
