Maître D – Food & Beverage Lead

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Maître D to lead the Host/Hostess team at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager/General Manager, you will ensure seamless front‑of‑house operations, exceptional guest experiences and support the overall performance of the outlet.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reservations efficiently, maximise seating capacity while maintaining high guest satisfaction.
• Lead, coach and supervise the Host/Hostess team, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to service standards.
• Support the Restaurant/General Manager with operational, administrative and financial tasks.
• Adjust priorities based on business volume and operational requirements.
• Assume full responsibility for the outlet in the absence of the Restaurant/General Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and quality assurance measures.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring side‑duty schedules and ensure completion by team members.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the outlet.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a front‑of‑house supervisory role within luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on team development.
• Ability to manage high‑volume reservations and optimise seating plans.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
• Flexibility to adapt priorities and work effectively under pressure.
