Material Inspector – Construction Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Material Inspector to join its Dubai team. You will work closely with engineering and site teams to ensure that all construction materials meet approved specifications, contract requirements, and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and verify all materials delivered to the site against submittals, batch certificates, test reports and contract documents.
• Carry out sampling and witness laboratory and field tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel and other civil materials as defined in the ITP.
• Monitor storage, handling and protection of materials to avoid contamination, segregation or damage.
• Coordinate testing schedules and approvals with the Material Engineer and Site Engineer.
• Review and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) related to materials and civil works.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, test results and material logs for QA/QC and as‑built documentation.
• Identify non‑conforming materials, raise NCRs, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during material handling, sampling and testing activities.

Required profile

• Experience in material inspection and testing on civil infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with local standards and RTA‑approved suppliers, manufacturers and testing laboratories.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
