Mechanical Design Engineer – MEP Projects (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Dubai team, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire‑fighting systems for commercial, residential and hospitality projects. The role involves producing detailed shop drawings, specifications and engineering reports while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑fighting systems for a variety of project types.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, BOQs, material specifications and engineering reports.
• Perform cooling load calculations using HAP or equivalent software.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical and MEP teams to ensure integrated solutions.
• Review designs for compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA and local authority regulations.
• Participate in BIM coordination, resolve design clashes and support value engineering.
• Assist in commissioning, testing and project hand‑over activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–10 years of mechanical design experience, with at least 5 years in the GCC, preferably the UAE.
• UAE Society of Engineers registration and DEWA approved engineer status.
• Familiarity with Dubai Civil Defense and EMAAR approvals is advantageous.

Required skills

• HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑fighting system design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and HAP (or equivalent load calculation software).
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM coordination (preferred).
