Pharmacist I

About the role

The Outpatient Pharmacist provides safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications to ambulatory patients, delivering patient counselling and supporting medication safety initiatives within a high‑volume outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense outpatient prescriptions in compliance with DOH, JCI and hospital standards.
• Provide patient counselling on medication use, dosing, precautions and storage.
• Maintain optimal patient flow by ensuring timely dispensing and meeting waiting‑time targets.
• Identify and resolve therapeutic duplications, drug interactions and other medication‑related issues.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to clarify and optimise medication orders.
• Support medication safety programmes, including LASA management and high‑alert medication guidelines.
• Manage inventory control, monitor expiries and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Document interventions and contribute to quality and performance improvement activities.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions and competency assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) pharmacy licence.
• 1–2 years of experience in an outpatient or hospital pharmacy setting.
• Fluency in Arabic.
