Pipeline Engineer – Dubai

About the role

Wood Group is seeking a Pipeline Engineer to join its Dubai team, delivering engineering solutions for oil and gas field development projects. The role involves managing pipeline design packages, ensuring compliance with international codes, and supporting construction and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned pipeline engineering scopes and deliver high‑quality work.
• Plan, budget, organise and control pipeline deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare design documents that meet client policies, industry standards and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with client engineering, operations and maintenance teams to ensure consistent project execution.
• Provide technical advice and solve discipline‑specific challenges.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines during design, construction, pre‑commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Identify progress or quality issues early and recommend corrective actions.
• Promote safe behaviour and adherence to safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Pipeline Engineer in an engineering design environment.
• Hands‑on experience with operational support, construction and commissioning.
• Proven ability to work in multinational, multicultural project teams.
• Previous experience working in the Middle East is essential.
• Experience with sour‑service operations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of pipeline engineering design fundamentals and analysis.
• Familiarity with international pipeline codes and standards.
• Proficiency with typical pipeline design software packages.
• Understanding of sour‑service considerations.
