Platform Engineer – Java

About the role

Revolut is looking for a senior Platform Engineer to design, build and scale the core backend systems that power its global financial platform. You will work on the event store, transactional infrastructure and other foundational services that enable millions of customers to manage money across spending, saving, investing and more.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and scale core backend systems and services.
• Write high‑throughput, concurrent code that runs in production at large scale.
• Solve cross‑team technical challenges affecting multiple engineering groups.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers on system design and best practices.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
• Proven track record building core platforms or foundational services used by other engineers.
• Experience with distributed systems at meaningful scale.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Fluency in English.

Required skills

• Java (primary production language).
• Knowledge of Kotlin, Scala, Python or Go as additional backend languages.
• Concurrency and high‑throughput programming.
