Principal Engineer Power Generation

About the role

RINA Consulting is looking for a Principal Engineer Power Generation to lead the technical delivery of consultancy projects across the UAE and the wider Middle East. The role focuses on condition assessment, performance optimisation and failure investigation of critical rotating machinery in power, petrochemical and desalination plants. Based in Abu Dhabi, the position requires up to 20% travel to client sites and occasional trips to the UK or Italy.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise the technical scope of consultancy projects.
• Lead local and international project teams, ensuring quality, time and cost targets are met.
• Collect, analyse and report data on rotating machinery performance.
• Maintain direct client liaison through meetings, presentations and written correspondence.
• Collaborate with RINA Project Managers and other disciplines to support effective contract management.
• Identify new business opportunities and work with commercial teams to develop proposals.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with rotating machinery in complex industrial environments.
• Proven ability to work independently and coordinate international teams.
• Strong client‑facing communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time and undertake short trips abroad.
