Product Quality Engineer – Engineer II

About the role

The Product Quality Engineer II executes product approval and acceptance activities for supplier‑manufactured parts across Powertech propulsion programs. The role reviews supplier APQP, PPAP and first‑article inspection submissions, prepares inspection plans, and supports configuration and change management coordination between Design Engineering, Supply Chain and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Review supplier first‑article inspection reports against AS9102 requirements, verifying characteristic accountability, ballooning, measured results and equipment.
• Assess supplier PPAP packages for completeness and technical adequacy, and prepare approval recommendations.
• Evaluate APQP deliverables (process flow, PFMEA, control plans) and ensure alignment with key characteristics.
• Prepare incoming inspection plans, sampling strategies and acceptance criteria for assigned part numbers.
• Raise and administer material review records during new product introduction, coordinate non‑conformance dispositions and track corrective‑action closure.
• Participate in supplier gate and industrialisation reviews, conduct on‑site product verification and communicate findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Materials or Metrology Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in aerospace quality, supplier quality, inspection or manufacturing engineering.
• Practical experience preparing or reviewing FAI (AS9102) and PPAP packages.
• Competent GD&T application and drawing interpretation.
• Working knowledge of metrology methods, CMM inspection and measurement systems analysis.
• Familiarity with APQP, PFMEA, control plans and process capability methods.
• Experience handling non‑conformance and structured problem solving.
• Understanding of machining and sheet‑metal fabrication processes for aerospace components.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites.
