Resident Engineer

About the role

The Resident Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and providing technical support for Multi‑Function Printers (MFPs), printers, scanners and related document‑management equipment at customer sites. You will work directly with clients to ensure devices are configured, serviced and operating according to agreed service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, commission and test new MFPs and printers on‑site.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults, including analysis of error codes.
• Repair or replace defective components, assemblies and consumables.
• Install and update firmware, drivers and embedded software.
• Respond to breakdown/service calls and meet SLA targets.
• Maintain accurate records of parts used and service activities in the management system.
• Complete service reports, maintenance checklists and required documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, IT or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience with printers, MFPs, copiers, scanners and basic network troubleshooting.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MFP/printer hardware and software.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and network printing.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Windows printing environments and printer drivers.
• Ability to install and update firmware, drivers and embedded software.
