School Bus Driver

About the role

The Aquila School is seeking a dedicated School Bus Driver to transport pupils safely to and from school each day. The role involves ensuring a secure, courteous, and supportive environment for children during their journeys, while maintaining the bus in excellent condition.

Key responsibilities

• Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons.
• Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑route inspections and keep the bus clean and mechanically sound.
• Obey all traffic laws and maintain up‑to‑date RTA approvals.
• Ensure the safety of all students on board.
• Discipline children when necessary to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist students with boarding and alighting the bus.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and carry out any additional tasks required by the school or regional office.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Willingness to work 8 hours (5:30 am‑5:00 pm Mon‑Thu, 5:30 am‑2:00 pm Fri) with occasional evenings or weekends.
• Ability to follow the Aquila Professional Code of Conduct and school policies.
• Readiness to undergo vetting procedures and criminal background checks covering the past 10 years.
• Line‑managed by the Facility Manager and Transport & Housekeeping Supervisor.
