School Nurse

About the role

Taaleem is seeking a qualified School Nurse to join its Al Barsha campus in Dubai. The role involves providing comprehensive health support to students and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment, and complying with UAE health authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage student health issues, including medication administration, vaccinations and first‑aid treatment.
• Inspect lunch boxes and monitor the school canteen to promote healthy eating habits.
• Support health and safety initiatives by coordinating with the Facilities Manager for regular checks.
• Maintain compliance with DHA/HAAD regulations, handle approvals, and compile health statistics.
• Ensure First Aid kits are stocked and functional.
• Conduct school medical examinations for designated year groups.
• Communicate health‑related information to parents and liaise with the Children’s Health department.
• Provide care for students with specific health needs, such as diabetes.
• Participate in the Health and Safety Committee and collaborate on child protection matters.

Required profile

• Valid nursing qualification approved by DHA/HAAD.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience in a hospital or school clinic setting.
• Strong knowledge of primary health care for children and families.
• Ability to advise colleagues on effective health‑care practices.
• Caring, empathetic, non‑judgmental attitude with excellent communication skills and a high degree of confidentiality.
