Senior Associate – Environmental

About the role

The Senior Associate – Environmental will ensure the implementation of Environmental Management standards, systems, policies and procedures across all Aldar construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role guarantees compliance with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), NOC requirements and ISO 14001 best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS) and related policies such as biodiversity, waste management, eco‑efficiency and climate strategy.
• Monitor and audit the performance of PMC, consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with permits, CEMP, EIA, and other environmental regulations.
• Coordinate the acquisition of Environmental NOC permits and ensure ongoing reporting of terrestrial, water and air performance data.
• Conduct regular internal and external inspections, audits and waste‑management follow‑ups across all projects.
• Prepare monthly environmental performance reports and dashboards for continual improvement.
• Support corporate social responsibility initiatives related to environmental protection and liaise with authorities on compliance matters.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental engineering within a large developer, construction firm or government sector.
• Degree in environmental or engineering discipline and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi/GCC environmental regulations and experience with contractor assessment.
• Fluent in English and Arabic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
