Senior Buyer

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead sourcing and purchasing activities for Majid Al Futtaim Lifestyle, ensuring optimal cost, quality and availability of product ranges that meet customer needs and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute buying strategies aligned with brand and MAF Lifestyle guidelines.
• Manage vendor sourcing, development, contract negotiation and purchasing processes.
• Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to maximise efficiency.
• Build and monitor Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans by store, category and sub‑category.
• Control stock levels to reduce lost sales, improve buying decisions and maintain a balanced product mix.
• Contribute to annual business plans, budgets and buying strategies, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Achieve financial targets for OTB, margins, sell‑through and markdowns.
• Negotiate pricing, shipment costs and payment terms with local vendors.
• Maintain profitable supplier relationships and ensure contractual compliance.
• Stay informed on customer trends and demographic shifts to guide buying decisions.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience in a senior merchandising or buying role.
• Retail background is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fashion, Marketing or a related field.
• Qualification in Retail Management or Purchasing is advantageous.
