Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement a defense-grade data lakehouse that will become the single source of truth for our AI-driven supply-chain platform. The role sits at the core of a strategic “Workstream 1: Data & Platform Foundations” initiative, integrating SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, PLM and large volumes of unstructured data to enable real-time analytics and generative AI applications for critical defence and technical sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and secure a Data Lakehouse environment that supports high-performance, near-real-time pipelines.
• Lead the technical execution of Workstream 1, mapping and integrating enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Ariba and PLM.
• Develop ingestion pipelines for transactional data and connectors for external market-intelligence feeds (e.g., S&P Global, Orbis, EcoVadis).
• Design a standardized procurement data model and taxonomy across multiple entities.
• Ensure data lineage, security and compliance with defence-grade standards throughout the “Sprint Zero” framework.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale data lakehouse or data warehouse solutions.
• Strong background in integrating ERP systems (SAP, Ariba) and handling unstructured data sources.
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional, agile environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus.
