Senior Data Engineer

About the role

dnata Travel is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Enterprise Data & Analytics team. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data and analytic solutions that support Emirates Airlines and the Emirates Group businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and build for small to medium sized data solutions.
• Translate functional and non‑functional requirements into technical designs.
• Ensure performance, edge‑case handling, and security compliance of solutions.
• Debug complex issues, resolve blockers, and follow design documents with minimal supervision.
• Develop and review code, adhering to coding principles and data privacy standards.
• Assist with data analysis activities such as source system analysis, data modelling, data profiling, and source‑to‑target mapping.
• Update data inventories, metadata, and lineage documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data engineering and analytics within a cross‑functional team.
• Ability to work autonomously on technical design and implementation.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and good judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
• Data‑driven mindset with attention to security and privacy requirements.

Required skills

• Data engineering coding (e.g., SQL, scripting languages).
• Code review and adherence to coding best practices.
• Understanding of data privacy and cybersecurity principles.
