Senior Data Scientist – Careem Pay

About the role

Careem is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Careem Pay team in Dubai. You will work on large‑scale data sets to build descriptive and predictive models that power core product features such as dynamic pricing, fraud detection, and ETA prediction.

Key responsibilities

• Define a long‑term data strategy for customer acquisition and engagement.
• Conduct exploratory analysis to uncover user behavior patterns and growth levers.
• Design and influence ML models and instrumentation to improve product experience.
• Provide data‑driven recommendations to product and business leaders.
• Implement scalable machine‑learning algorithms for production on big data platforms.
• Run randomized controlled experiments and communicate findings.
• Track key metrics and ensure rigorous experimentation practices.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data mining, predictive modeling, time‑series analysis, and machine learning.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional technical projects.
• Strong problem‑solving and coding capabilities.
• Familiarity with payment channels, banking services, and related regulatory landscape is a plus.
