Senior Data Scientist / Senior AI Engineer

About the role

Join the Emirates Group Analytics Centre of Excellence and lead the design and delivery of cutting‑edge AI and advanced analytics solutions for one of the world’s leading aviation organisations. You will work on large‑scale challenges, mentor junior talent and drive AI adoption across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end AI initiatives from problem definition through deployment and value realisation.
• Partner with business leaders to translate strategic challenges into scalable AI and analytics solutions.
• Design and implement advanced machine‑learning, optimisation and simulation models.
• Develop AI‑powered capabilities using GenAI, large language models and Agentic AI technologies.
• Drive experimentation, model validation and performance measurement to ensure business impact.
• Build reusable data‑science frameworks, libraries and production‑ready solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to operationalise machine‑learning and AI products.
• Mentor and coach junior data scientists and promote best practices across the analytics community.
• Identify emerging technologies that can create competitive advantage.

Required profile

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
• 4‑7+ years of experience delivering advanced analytics, machine‑learning, optimisation or AI solutions in large, complex organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.

Required skills

• Machine learning, statistical modelling and advanced analytics.
• GenAI, large language models (LLMs) and Agentic AI.
• AI engineering: model deployment, orchestration frameworks, evaluation, observability, RAG architectures.
• Optimisation frameworks such as Gurobi, FICO or CPLEX.
• Programming in Python and SQL.
• Version control (Git), containerisation (Docker), CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices.
