Senior Environmental and Sustainability Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Environmental and Sustainability Engineer to support high‑quality infrastructure and master‑plan projects in Abu Dhabi. You will lead the development and implementation of sustainability and environmental strategies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical sustainability and environmental support to enable achievement of project targets.
• Deliver training to project teams during kick‑off and early stages.
• Assist with licensing, permits and approvals from authorities such as EAD, DMT, GORD, MME.
• Develop project‑specific sustainability and environmental strategies.
• Review consultant and contractor deliverables for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare RFPs, respond to RFIs and coordinate technical queries.
• Conduct design and construction sustainability audits, site inspections and monitor corrective actions.
• Coordinate meetings with clients, environmental agencies, consultants and contractors.
• Guide project teams through planning, design, tendering and construction to meet sustainability goals.
• Oversee procurement and performance monitoring of sustainability sub‑consultants.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineering experience in sustainability and environmental fields.
• Proven ability to develop and implement project‑specific sustainability strategies.
• Experience interacting with local regulatory bodies for permits and approvals.
