Senior Hardware Researcher – Cybersecurity

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking a Senior Researcher to lead hardware‑focused security evaluations. The role involves hands‑on testing of IT products, embedded systems, firmware, software and hardware devices to uncover vulnerabilities and support risk‑based decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse product specifications, firmware, software, hardware components and interfaces to map attack surfaces.
• Perform security testing activities such as vulnerability assessments, firmware analysis, reverse engineering, fuzzing, logical attacks, debug‑interface testing, side‑channel analysis, fault injection and cryptographic testing.
• Collect and examine technical evidence including logs, traces, binaries, signal captures and measurement data.
• Document findings, vulnerabilities and test results in clear, structured technical reports.
• Maintain comprehensive records of tools, configurations, evidence and results to ensure traceability.
• Support senior researchers in planning, executing and delivering evaluation projects.
• Contribute to the improvement of testing methodologies, scripts, tools and reusable procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in cybersecurity evaluation, penetration testing, vulnerability research or hardware security testing.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following: firmware analysis, fuzzing, exploit development or related techniques.
