Senior Pharmacist

About the role

The organization is a reputable healthcare provider in Dubai seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacist to join its multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective medication therapy for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate patient drug therapy, including dosage, route, interactions, duplication and adverse reactions.
• Review and verify inpatient and outpatient prescriptions for accuracy before dispensing.
• Provide pharmaceutical information on new and investigational drugs, side‑effects, contraindications, compatibility and stability.
• Educate patients on medication use, therapy adherence and drug‑related disease prevention.
• Manage narcotic and investigational medicines in line with approved policies.
• Prepare, package, dispense and deliver medications and sterile products, including IV admixtures and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
• Maintain accurate electronic records of all dispensed medications.
• Conduct routine inspections of medication storage areas and remove expired or unusable stock.
• Support training and development of pharmacy students.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (required); Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid DHA license.
• Relevant pharmacy experience meeting the required criteria.
• Strong knowledge of medication therapy, drug interactions, prescription review and pharmaceutical care.
• Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy, sterile preparations, IV admixtures and TPN is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
