Senior Project Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the engineering and procurement phases of major projects in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee the PMC Engineering team, coordinate with contractors, and ensure technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day work allocation, supervision, and performance of the PMC Engineering group.
• Provide technical leadership, develop engineering processes, and ensure the team has the right disciplines and size to meet contract requirements.
• Deliver independent project management consultancy, risk mitigation, and recovery plans during engineering and procurement.
• Participate in design reviews, ensuring constructability, testability, operability, maintainability, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate vendor document reviews, secure owner approvals, and interface with piping, mechanical, structural, and E&I disciplines.
• Lead succession planning, competence assessments, and performance reviews for the engineering team.
• Conduct site visits to demonstrate safety leadership and support the Wood project management team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in engineering project management, preferably within the energy, chemicals, or resources sector.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage large‑scale contracts.
• Strong understanding of engineering design, procurement processes, and contractor oversight.
• Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder interactions.
