Senior Software Engineer (Frontend)

About the role

Our team at Careem is looking for a senior frontend engineer to design and build high‑performance web applications that serve millions of users and partners across the region. You will work in a cross‑functional, agile environment, delivering scalable merchant‑experience features that operate both online and offline.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality, performant, and reliable code, including unit tests, while handling tasks and bugs independently.
• Interpret functional specifications and deliver complete features end‑to‑end.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
• Lead and contribute to agile processes and continuous improvement of team practices.
• Collaborate with engineers to build highly scalable and robust web applications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional web development experience.
• Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
