Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Property Finder, the leading property portal in MENA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the development of high‑traffic backend services that power its marketplace. You will own the full lifecycle of services that enable millions of buyers, renters and agents to interact with the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate scalable backend services for core marketplace experiences.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment and observability.
• Develop new features primarily in TypeScript (Node.js) while maintaining and evolving existing Go services.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and front‑end engineers to translate requirements into robust, maintainable systems.
• Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident response and continuous performance improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to backend standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of backend engineering experience, preferably on high‑traffic consumer‑facing systems.
• Strong track record of delivering reliable, low‑latency services at scale.
• Ability to influence architecture beyond the immediate squad and raise engineering standards.

Required skills

• TypeScript (Node.js) – primary language for new services.
• Go – experience with or ability to quickly ramp up on existing Go codebases.
• Microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and incident response tooling.
