Senior Technical Software Engineer – Facial Recognition

About the role

Emirates Group is seeking a Senior Technical Software Engineer to join its IT Group Security team focused on facial recognition solutions. You will be a hands‑on technical leader within an agile feature team, delivering secure, scalable software that supports the airline’s global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of medium to large‑scale initiatives, translating business needs into maintainable solutions.
• Develop, review, and maintain high‑quality code following Emirates Group engineering standards and architectural guidelines.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge across the team.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, vendors, and dependent teams to resolve technical dependencies and risks.
• Drive engineering excellence through secure coding, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and continuous refactoring.
• Lead incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and service restoration within agreed SLAs.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted development tools, and contribute to engineering playbooks.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications in Agile environments.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain large‑scale, secure, and highly available systems.
