Senior VMware & Nutanix Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced VMware & Nutanix Subject Matter Expert to manage and support our enterprise infrastructure across VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft Azure, and Windows Server environments. The role focuses on day‑to‑day operations, lifecycle management, automation, and ensuring high availability of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and monitor VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, storage, and VMs.
• Manage Nutanix infrastructure via Prism Central, AHV, cluster health, capacity, and lifecycle activities.
• Operate Microsoft Azure services such as virtual machines, networking, storage, backup, and security controls.
• Perform Windows Server administration, including installation, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Handle infrastructure lifecycle tasks: patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and technology refreshes.
• Monitor health, address performance, availability, and capacity issues proactively.
• Support incident, problem, change, and service request management following ITIL best practices.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Assist with disaster recovery, backup, restoration, and business continuity activities.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop scripts or workflows to reduce manual effort.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and technical knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with application, network, security, and cloud teams on projects and service delivery.

Required profile

• BSc in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8–10 years of IT infrastructure operations experience.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on VMware administration and at least 3 years each with Nutanix and Azure.
• Proven ability to manage critical incidents in high‑pressure production environments.

• VMware ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS, VM provisioning, patching, performance and capacity management.
• Nutanix Prism Central, Prism Element, AHV, Lifecycle Manager, capacity monitoring, data protection.
• Microsoft Azure VM, virtual networks, storage, backup, IAM, security and governance.
• Windows Server DNS, DHCP, file services, patching, PowerShell scripting.
• Automation tools: PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform (optional).
• Monitoring tools: SCOM, HP Service Assurance (optional).
• ITIL Foundation, VMware VCP, Nutanix NCP, Microsoft AZ‑104 certifications (optional).
