Smart City Systems Specialist

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Smart City Systems Specialist to join its Dubai team. You will work within a multidisciplinary group to design, integrate, and validate smart city and digital infrastructure solutions across the urban environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate smart city solution requirements into performance and functional specifications.
• Ensure alignment between smart city platforms, applications, and field‑level connectivity.
• Identify optimal locations for sensors, gateways, and edge devices and validate ICT designs.
• Coordinate with licensed telecom operators for connectivity approvals and regulatory compliance.
• Support technical workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder alignment sessions.
• Collaborate with solution architects, ICT & security designers, and on‑ground field teams.
• Define connectivity requirements for IoT sensors, surveillance, mobility, utilities, environment, and public safety use cases.
• Review and assure network designs covering fiber, wireless, and IoT connectivity to ensure scalability, resilience, and security.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field.
• More than 5 years of experience in systems engineering, ICT, communication networks, or smart‑city‑related roles.
• Proven experience supporting smart city, digital infrastructure, or IoT projects.
• Strong understanding of ICT concepts, architectures, and standards.

Required skills

• Fiber optic network design and implementation.
• Wireless network technologies (LTE, 5G, Wi‑Fi).
• IoT connectivity protocols (LoRaWAN, NB‑IoT, cellular IoT).
• Systems engineering and ICT architecture.
