Solid Propulsion Engineer II

About the role

The Solid Propulsion Engineer II supports the development, characterization, testing, and manufacturing of solid rocket propellants and associated energetic materials. The role works closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure propulsion systems meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and evaluation of solid rocket propellant formulations, including selection of energetic materials and additives.
• Conduct laboratory testing and material characterization, analyzing chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties.
• Assist in propellant processing, mixing, casting, and curing, while monitoring manufacturing quality.
• Support development and qualification test campaigns, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, engineering procedures, and emerging technology scouting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience in chemical processing, materials engineering, energetic materials, aerospace, or defense.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with laboratory testing, materials characterization, or manufacturing processes is desirable.
• Experience with energetic materials or solid rocket propellants is an advantage.
