Staff Nurse – ICU

About the role

Provides age‑appropriate patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, adhering to the Nursing Scope of Practice, professional code of conduct and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Leads and mentors nursing staff, supervises practical nurses and midwives, acts as preceptor and participates in performance reviews.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care, coordinates individualized care from admission through discharge, and responds to emergencies.
• Administers medications, monitors patient response, reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors, and complies with narcotic policies.
• Documents care accurately in electronic medical records and ensures confidentiality and patient safety.

Required profile

• Special Certificate required with minimum 2 years clinical experience post‑qualification (experience waived for recent UAE nursing graduates).
• Demonstrates critical thinking, conflict management, problem‑solving and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Committed to professional development, maintains a professional portfolio and obtains continuing nursing education units.
