Stewarding Team Leader

About the role

The Stewarding Team Leader oversees the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dish areas at Le Meridien Fujairah. This role combines hands‑on stewardship of cleaning equipment with supervisory duties to ensure a safe, efficient back‑of‑house environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organise cleaning chemicals, supplies and inventory, rotating stock and replenishing kitchen racks.
• Collect, transport and clean dirty pans, pots and utensils using dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations and pot‑scrubbing stations.
• Maintain sanitation areas, loading docks, ceilings, walls and vents in the dish room.
• Complete cleaning checklists, schedule sanitising cycles and ensure proper storage of clean wares.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching team members.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents and unsafe conditions, and follow safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related stewarding or kitchen cleaning experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing machines and pot‑scrubbing stations.
• Use and maintenance of cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms and trash compactors.
• Inventory management of cleaning chemicals, supplies and kitchen utensils.
